Porttiteateri

In May of 2023, Geneviève was one of six students from the Sibelius Academy’s Global Music program to participate in a collaboration with Porttiteatteri (Gateway Theatre) project, working with current and former inmates of Suomenlinna Prison. A documentary film was made about the project and will be available to the public in 2025. Gædlin Band

In January of 2023, the band Gædlin was formed—comprised of Noah Hassler-Forest (violin, mandolin, and vocals), Heikki Kylkisalo (uilleann pipes, whistles, vocals), Geneviève Andersen (vocals, guitar, nyckelharpa, double bass), and Markus Snellman (percussion & vocals). The quartet premiered at the Sibelius Academy’s Global Spring Music Festival and will begin touring Europe in 2024. Choirs For Ecocide Law

In April of 2023, Geneviève wrote Song of Desperation as one of 12 professional songwriters commissioned to create works focusing on the climate crises and the need for implementation of Ecocide Laws on a global scale. These works premiered at the World Symposium on Choral Music in Istanbul, Turkey, performed by 12,000+ singers. The pieces have now been published through the European Choir Association and are available for performance, globally.
